Also I found another great site for getting your videos out there it’s called Dabble. Kind of similar to youtube but just another opportunity to get your work seen. You can upload your video and communicate with other members. You can also search for other videos and leave comments. Hope you enjoy these links!

How to Get Paid for your Flickr Photos

27 10 2007

How to Get Paid for your Flickr Photos I found this link to a post on the blog photopreneur which is a great site because it has great tips on how to make money from your images. Ideas that I wouldn’t have considered such as selling them on ebay. But the most important message from these posts is to network. Get to know other members on sites such as flickr, redbubble, or zooomr by commenting or joining groups or forums. After all that’s what these sites were meant to do.

Tim Storrier

23 10 2007

I recently went to Tim Storrier’s Exhibition which is currently at the Drill Hall Gallery. I loved the work. He is often known for his paintings but the exhibition displays only Storrier’s photographs.

Running Man II, 1985

His photographs were only seen as experimental works and not individual artworks. But in my opinion I really enjoyed them and I view them as individual artwork. I loved the metallic paper it really suited the work especially the photographs taken in Egypt. But most of all I love the Running Man series.

Don’t miss the exhibition it’s on till the 28th of October 2007.

Oh and you can check out Tim Storrier’s work on his website http://www.storrier.com/

My website

8 10 2007

My website www.ashlinnharty.com is finally online! After the problems with uploading the pages. It feels so great to be able to have something online and it’s another way to share my artwork. Everything finally works and you can see my photographs and find out a little bit more about how there are made. Oh and there are links to other sites and online profiles. Please feel free to have a look and let me know what you think.

Harty Photos on Imageloop

17 09 2007

I have decided as a fun and quick way to show my photos I will use a slideshow. I found a great site called imageloop where you can add your photos, select options for e.g. slide and funky borders to frame your images. Once your done you can save it and add it to your netvibes, blog, or myspace.

Redbubble

27 08 2007

I have currently been using a website called redbubble to display my photos. It’s similar to flickr but it allows you to sell your work. There are competitions and forums. I find it’s a great way to get feedback on my work and feel apart of a community.

Irish dancing

31 07 2007

Currently I have been doing a project exploring my heritage. I have been going to competitions to photograph the dancers getting prepared for their solo dance. I used to do Irish dancing when I was younger. It has changed fair bit from how I remember it. I never had to wear one of those wigs and the dresses have changed so much.
